James R. Harold, DDS is one of a handful of dentists in the Southeast whose practice is totally dedicated to treating TMJ and Facial pain. At TMJ and Facial Pain of the Carolinas, he and his highly trained team are dedicated to providing the finest in Neuromuscular techniques designed to provide relief and restore function.
Dr. Harold has been in private practice in Raleigh for more than 35 years. With hundreds of hours of continuing education in areas of TMJ dysfunction, craniofacial pain, sleep disorders, physical therapy, complex aesthetics, and full mouth reconstruction, Dr. Harold has become one of the East Coast’s foremost providers of these services. He received his dental degree from Temple University and post-graduate training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, The Center for Occlusal Studies in Parkersburg, WV, and the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. He taught for 10 years as a clinical instructor at LVI and has recently been awarded a Fellowship from the AACP. Dr. Harold is, and continues to be, a student of dentistry, and excels at the highest level. He has lectured extensively on neuromuscular dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, and has been published in national dental publications.
Dr. Harold is married to Nancy, his hygienist, and has a grown son and daughter. His interests include a passion for golf and skiing.
